Higginson Tower
The Higginson Tower is a great place to visit and get a view from the top of the highest structure in town!
Tour groups are welcome! Enjoy a bilingual interpretive program and displays of artifacts found during an archaeological investigation before restoration.
Listen to history as you climb the steps inside the tower to the top!
Champlain Library
The Champlain Library, located at 94 Main Street, hosts many local events for children, adults, and families.
Stop by and browse their collection of more than 17,000 items, including books, audiobooks, and magazines. Enjoy this historic building, at one time a bank!
You can still see the original bank vault, which forms part of the library.
Vankleek Hill Museum
The Vankleek Hill Museum, located in Vankleek Hill’s shopping district, operates out of an 1834 building and interprets local history through the prism of a general store.
Whether you are interested in the history of our town or want to learn more about the museum’s summer projects, which change from year to year, stop by for a visit!
The Review
The Review has been our local newspaper for the past 130 years!
Visitors are welcome at The Review any time and can pick up a copy of this week’s newspaper or learn more about their archives, dating back to 1893!
You can also browse their big collection of books by local authors for sale or take home a souvenir, a Vankleek Hill Christmas ornament.
The Review has lots of tourist info and brochures outlining local things to do and places to eat, and the staff at the front desk will be happy to answer your questions and help you make the most of your visit!
Arbor Gallery
Arbor Gallery is located in the historic Higginson house built by William Higginson in 1856. The gallery is a multi-faceted artistic and cultural center.
It offers a diversity of artistic and cultural expositions, including drama, film/animation, textiles, writing, and poetry, as well as exhibition and instructional opportunities.
The Gift Shoppe showcases a wide variety of locally-created artistic merchandise.
You can visit the Gallery on Wednesday through Sunday, 12 – 4 pm.
Vankleek Hill Creating Centre
The Creating Center, located at 11 High Street, is dedicated to promoting creativity from all genres: from art to music, drama to dance, culinary arts to philosophy, writing to contemplation, and so much more.
It also serves as a community hub for meetings, concerts, artistic events, and workshops!
Ouimet Farms Adventure
Ouimet Farms Adventure is located just west of the center of the town.
It is a unique place where fun, family, and farming come together and enjoy the playground in the summer and a corn maze in the fall!
Learn about farming, jump on their big bouncer pillow, slide down the giant tubes, ride the pedal karts, experience gemstone mining, take a wagon ride, and much more!
Old houses
Vankleek Hill is known as the Gingerbread Capital of Ontario for the ornate woodwork that adorns about 100 beautiful century-old red-brick houses.
They are the pride and joy of our community, making our town a unique stop for tourists and visitors and a picturesque place to stay and raise a family!
